On behalf of the City of Menominee, Coleman Engineering Company is requesting bids for road reconstruction located in the City of Menominee. The purpose of this project is to replace a concrete roadway at the end of its service life while improving drainage patterns. Removals: Remove all storm sewer, catch basins and manholes within the project limits, except for the 24-inch concrete storm sewer leaving the manhole at 11+92, 33.5' RT. Remove all pavement (HMA and concrete) and curb and gutter from within the project limits. Install erosion control, inlet protection, fabric drop in existing catch basins and maintain until project completion. Storm Sewer: At 11+92, 33.5' RT, place a 72-inch diameter manhole with a Type B cover. All other catch basins shall be 24-inch diameter (2) catch basins or 48-inch diameter (2) with Type K covers. Place the drainage structures at the locations located on the plans with the rim elevations as indicated. Install new storm sewer, Cl E, 12-inch, Tr Det E between the drainage structures. Maintain positive drainage to the maximum extent practicable. Provide the City with as-built information for the installed storm sewer. Road Reconstruction: The roadway structure will be an 8-inch aggregate base and 3 inches of HMA, 5EL placed in two (2) lifts. Grade the existing area, as required, to maintain positive drainage and match the elevations indicated on the plans. Install new curb, Curb and Gutter, Conc, Det C2, as indicated on the plans All work is to be performed in accordance with the Michigan Department of Transportation 2020 Standard Specifications for Construction. The Contractor will have a maximum of 30 working days from mobilization on the site to complete the work described herein. The Contractor will not begin work before July 18, 2022 and the work shall be completed by November 11, 2022.
