The City of Conroe, Texas is requesting Proposals to provide Construction Manager- at-Risk Services for the construction of a new Fire Station #8 located at FM 3083 and Presswood Road within the City of Conroe, Texas. The project is the construction of a new fire station. The building will be designed and constructed with three apparatus bays, eight staff dorms, one officer dorm, and related site work. The square footage is approximately 11,030 SF. The project will be a one-story building that contains one fire company. The project is not expected to include any off-site improvements nor is to pursue LEED certification. The conceptual construction budget for Fire Station No. 8 is expected to be $5,500,000.00. The governing body of the City has determined that the procurement method that provides the best value for the City is the Construction Manager-at-Risk method authorized by Subchapter F, Texas Government Code Chapter 2269.251 and has authorized the use of the one step selection process permitted by Government Code 2269.253.
