Renovation of a laboratory facility in Newport News, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a laboratory facility.
The Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (Jefferson Lab) is seeking firms capable of performing the below scope of potential work. Jefferson Lab is a U.S. Department of Energy nuclear physics research facility located in Newport News, Virginia, managed and operated by Jefferson Science Associates, LLC (JSA) under prime contract to DOE. Project involves demolition of existing 90 ton and 8 ton chillers along with associated piping, pumps, electrical and controls. The demolished chillers will be replaced with a 215- t o n chiller. Work includes new pumps, heat exchanger, piping, electrical and controls. The new chiller will be located outside where demolished chiller was located. Project also includes providing a temporary chiller for cooling while chilled water system is down.
