Renovation of a medical facility in North Vancouver, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
The current Air Handling Unit (AHU) and Exhaust Fan (EF) are original from the hospital wing construction that occurred circa 1960. While both pieces of equipment are still running and being maintained, they are well past their standard serviceable lives. The current condition of major components are visibly deteriorating with the manufacturer long since out of business. This equipment serves part of the OR and Maternity department with the following space type requirements: Sterile storage rooms (3) OR eye case rooms (2) OR suites (2) Labour room (1) Clinical support areas (4) Common corridors (2) This project aims at completely rebuilding the existing equipment in its current location with all new components and modernize it to be more energy efficient with higher air filtration and temperature control. This will provide a renewed service life of 20 more years. The construction downtime will be scheduled to minimize hospital impact.
