The mechanical contractor will act as the project general contractor. Bids will not be accepted from firms other than mechanical contractors. The scope of work period includes providing all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, and other means of construction necessary for completion of the work indicated in the Bid Documents including, but not necessarily limited to, the following: selective demolition, replacement of existing hot water boilers, hydronic accessories, thermal storage tank, and all related pumps, hydronic piping, plumbing piping, insulation, heat exchangers, exhaust fans, gas piping, air intakes, flues, ductwork, drains, air separators, expansion tanks, variable frequency drives, electrical power, building automation controls, replacement of existing acoustical panel ceiling systems, cutting & patching of interior finishes, removal & reinstallation of doors & frames, concrete equipment curbs, cutting and patching concrete masonry, cutting and patching concrete slabs, and cutting and patching roof penetrations & flashings. The work site is Western Avenue Elementary School, 1500 Western Avenue, Geneva, IL 60134. Liquidated damages apply to the Substantial Completion date. Required prequalification documentation must be submitted in Adobe PDF format to the District's Architect via the email address listed above on or before 4:00 p.m. Central Time on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. A Bidder's failure to submit the required prequalification documentation will be considered grounds for rejection of the Contractor's bid. It is anticipated that the contracts will be awarded by the Board of Education at their regular meeting on Monday, August 15, 2022. The Contractor will be required to submit electronic copies of their certified payrolls with each application for payment using the Illinois Department of Labor's Prevailing Wage Portal. The Geneva Community Unit School District 304 Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, reject nonconforming bids, reject conditional bids, waive irregularities in the bidding procedures, or to accept any bid that, in its sole opinion, best serves the interests of the School District.
