Renovation of a mixed-use development in Syracuse, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade laboratory facility.

The State University Construction Fund is seeking Statements of Qualifications from consultants to provide construction management services for the following project: The Facilities Condition Index (FCI) completed in 2017 for Upstate Medical University consisted of building and site analysis to size the Campus critical Maintenance backlog. This assessment provided the added benefit of outlining Upstate's poorest facilities components. Among the many issues reported were the conditions and rehabilitation need for Weiskotten Hall, especially in the areas currently programmed for Upstate's Department of Laboratory of Animal Research (DLAR). The College determined the location of DLAR to be the specific renovation of Weiskotten Hall as a high priority critical maintenance Capital project. There are many concerns to meet the Association for Assessment and Accreditation, and the Weiskotten mechanical systems currently are lagging to meet these requirements. This project will address critical maintenance back log in this building and will provide the upgraded program space that will help Upstate achieve its academic mission in the most logical, appropriate and efficient manner. Upstate Medical University's DLAR has gone through many changes in its existence. Most recently, Upstate embarked on a multi-phased renovation to DLAR program spaces in Weiskotten Hall and the University Hospital The current estimated construction value is approximately $27 million.
