The purpose of this Request for Qualifications (RSQ) is to solicit competitive, sealed Proposals to furnish Professional Construction Management/General Contracting Services for the Marine Science Center Artificial Reef Aquarium Exhibit for the County of Volusia, Florida. Volusia County is seeking the services of a Design-Build Contractor for the design, engineering, permitting, fabrication and installation of a new Artificial Reef Aquarium Exhibit at the museum gallery at the Marine Science Center, 100 Lighthouse Drive, Ponce Inlet, Florida. The walkthrough exhibit shall have an exterior envelope simulating a steel hull ship with acrylic windows providing views into a fiberglass aquatic tank. Question & Answer deadline Aug 04, 2022 (Thu), 11:59 PM The Marine Science Center (MSC) opened in 2002 and has since played an important part in rescuing, rehabilitating and eleasing many species of sea turtles and birds, many of which are endangered. Combining the rehabilitation hospitals with an exhibit gallery and educational programs allows the MSC to teach its visitors about living in harmony with our environment and how each one of us can help conserve our resources through environmental stewardship. The installation of the new Artificial Reef Aquarium Exhibit, a.k.a. Lady Philomena, to the MSC museum will add to the outstanding environmental education at the Marine Science Center. Individuals of all backgrounds will be able to interact with, learn from, and be inspired by the exhibit. The primary focus of the exhibit is to introduce the public to the program, benefits and ecology of Volusia County's Artificial Reef Program. It is anticipated that one (1) firm will be awarded a basic contract to provide the necessary services for a period of two hundred sixty-one (261) calendar days from the date of issuance of a notice to proceed.
