Renovation of a museum in Ponce Inlet, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a museum.

The design, construction, and delivery of a freestanding aquarium exhibit; including support structure, base habitat inserts (including live plant wells, sloping submerged shoreline, and sea wall) and all internal and through exhibit plumbing for the Volusia County Marine Science Center at Ponce Inlet. Design and construction to include preliminary meeting to discuss exhibit goals, verification of existing conditions and space, preparing shop drawings, fabrication of all components, and build to compliant specifications. Question Deadline 11/16/2023 at 12:00 PM ET All answers to questions of substance will be publicly published via the Countys eProcurement Portal, Question & Answer feature Specific project elements (Exhibit drawings and photos are included for reference): Aquarium to be constructed of flat rectangular acrylic sections and fiberglass of appropriate and industry standard thickness. Acrylic dimensions with approximate dimensions of 84 inches long x 60 inches wide x 37 inches high, and approximately 685-gallon capacity. An acrylic angled lip around the front of the exhibit should match the existing mangrove exhibit to prevent fish from jumping out. Interior insert to consist of natural looking shelves/wells to support live mangroves and marsh grasses, sloping shoreline section, seawall section and a section to mimic a living shoreline habitat. The shelf/well sections to hold the live mangroves/marsh grasses should include design elements to support these aquatic plant features (discussed during preliminary meeting). Oyster reef features and live plants supplied by MSC staff. Provide shop drawings to MSC staff for approval before start of construction. All external connections, including plumbing, lighting, Life Support Systems, electrical, and HVAC to be completed by MSC staff. The County Council has adopted policies, which assure and encourage the full participation of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) in the provision of goods and services. The County encourages joint ventures between majority-owned firms and qualified disadvantaged / minority / women-owned firms.
