** As of October 24, 2022, project was awarded to Albuquerque Asphalt Inc for $942,224.24. The City of Socorro, NM located in Socorro County will construct a street and drainage improvements project on Cuba Road, in a low-to-moderate income area located in the southern part of the City between I-25 to the west and Hope Farms Road to the east (34 02' 42" longitude and 106 53' 04" latitude). This project will address drainage issues and provide a reliable transportation and drainage network within the project area. Drainage will be diverted to a drainage channel, using the newly paved surface and curb and gutter to transport storm water runoff. The approximate width of the road will be 20'. Drive pads and curb returns will be designed in compliance with the ADA. Improvements for Cuba Road consist of unclassified excavation, cold milling, sub-grade preparation, base course, approximately 3,420 s.y. of hot mix asphalt and approximately 3920 lf of curb & gutter. Improvements for Markland Road consist of unclassified excavation for a length of approximately 1000 lf to direct drainage from the residents. This Project is funded in whole or in part by a grant from the state of New Mexico Small Cities Community Development Block Grant Program and is subject to requirements of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development and the funding agency.
