Bids will be received at South Beloit Public Library for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary for South Beloit Public Library - HVAC and Roof Upgrades. The work for which bids are asked includes, but not necessarily limited to, furnishing all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary for the HVAC Upgrades and Roof Replacement at South Beloit Public Library - HVAC and Roof Upgrades located at 630 Blackhawk Blvd, South Beloit, IL 61080 respectively. The mechanical contractor shall issue a bid and act as the prime contractor for work to include but not limited to, the replacement of roof-top units, electrical connections and feeders, roof curbs, and other items identified on the contract documents. The roofing contractor shall issue a bid and act as the prime contractor for Alternate 1, including but not limited to, new roofing, insulation, and other items identified on the contract documents. Contractors will be responsible for coordinating throughout the duration of the project for successful completion of all work. All bidders shall bid in accordance with, and shall bid upon the bid forms included in the Contract Documents. Neglect of the above requirements will not be accepted as reason for delay in the work or additional compensation. The Contract letting shall be subject to the provisions of Illinois Statutes, as well as any other applicable sections thereof. Prevailing wage rates, as established, published and set forth in accordance with State law, are applicable to this project. Compliance with 2021 Illinois, 820 ILCS 130 state prevailing wage law for local government units such as villages, towns, cities, and school districts is required." A certified check or satisfactory Bid Bond payable to South Beloit Public Library in the amount of 10% of the bid shall accompany each bid as a guarantee. If the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the Agreement, the Contract Performance Bond and Payment Bond, as required by the Contract Documents, within ten (10) days after the Notice of Award of the Contract by South Beloit Public Library. Failure on the part of the bidder to do so will result in forfeiture of the bidder's certified check or Bid Bond to South Beloit Public Library as liquidated damages. South Beloit Public Library reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive any informalities in bidding, or to accept the bid or bids, which best serve the interests of the South Beloit Public Library. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the schedule opening of the bids without the consent of the Owner or Architect.
