Specifications are as follows; Brushing All brush within the road right of way is to be removed. All brushing must comply with all rules and regulations for RAP period (restricted access periods for nesting birds). This includes Alberta Energy Regulator’s “Master Schedule of Standards and Conditions” and Environment and Climate Change Canada ‘s “Migratory Birds Convention Act”. All debris is to be removed and disposed of from the ditch or chipped and placed on the backslope of the ditch; Chips must not exceed 12 inches (30cm) in length and during placement cannot exceed a depth of 2 inches (5cm). Chips/mulch are not to be left on the bottom of the ditch or the road grade slope as this can impede drainage. All rocks within the road right of way are to be removed and disposed of by the Contractor. All debris that lands on the road is to be removed prior to leaving site daily. Contractor is solely responsible for maintaining the integrity of the roadway, culverts, and any surrounding infrastructure. The Contractor shall, in addition, be liable to the Owner for all expenses, losses, or damages incurred by the Owner as a result of such faulty materials and defective workmanship or as a result of the Contractor's failure to meet the guaranteed requirements as specified herein. Ditch Improvements Contractor must contour ditches to ensure positive drainage. This Includes temporarily removing topsoil, removal & disposal of earthworks to shape and grade ditches, and the replacement of existing topsoil. Contractor is to notify the M.D. regarding any areas where attaining positive drainage does not seem reasonably practicable. Fencing Existing fence that is damaged adjacent to the brushing locations is to be removed, disposed, and replaced with a four wire class B fence. These locations will be confirmed on-site by the M.D. and will be paid as a provisional unit rate item.
