Renovation of an educational facility in High Point, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 42,749-square-foot educational facility.

The existing 42,729 SF Tomlinson Elementary School will be renovated to accommodate the Newcomer's School. This will include upgrading the site to provide handicapped accessibility, preparation for a playground for students, repairing storm drainage, alternates for new chiller and dumpster enclosures and fencing around the property. The exterior of the building will be soft washed, masonry pointed up, repair and paint existing windows and doors, and removal and replacement of the exterior stair at the auditorium. Renovation of the interior of the building will include repairing/replacing interior doors, translucent shades, fixing moisture concerns on walls. Programmatically, the school will include a construction of offices, community area with residential kitchen, washer and dryer; a small medical clinic; a cafeteria / dining and handicapped toilets. The mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems will be upgraded. A 5% Bid Bond and 100% Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds are required for this project. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of 60 days. The Guilford County Board of Education awards public contracts without regard to race, religion, color, creed, national origin, sex, age or handicapped condition as defined by North Carolina General Statutes, Section 168A-3. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids presented and to waive any informalities and irregularities.
