the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Maywood, Cook County, Illinois, that sealed bid proposals will be received for the following improvement: 2022 ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT This project consists of roadway, sewer, and water main improvements at various locations within the Village of Maywood. The work to be performed will include the installation of approximately 480 feet of 8" ductile iron water main and appurtenances; connection of water mains and installation of water services; sewer televising and sewer lining of approximately 600 feet of combined sewer using the inversion method; replacement or repair of defective drainage structures; replacement of deteriorated storm sewer laterals and certain sections of combined sewer; removal and replacement of curb and gutter, sidewalks, and driveway pavement; excavation of the existing pavement; installation of an aggregate base course; installation of concrete alley pavement; reconstruction of pavements with hot-mix asphalt binder and hot-mix asphalt surface courses; milling and resurfacing of hot-mix asphalt pavements; pavement markings and signage; landscaping restoration of the parkways, and other related work. The Engineer has been authorized to refuse to issue plans, specifications, and proposals to any person, firm, or corporation that he considers to be unqualified. Proposals must be submitted on the forms provided. All bidders wishing to obtain bidding documents must be approved by the Village prior to obtaining bidding documents. All bidders must provide proof that they are prequalified with the Illinois Department of Transportation to perform at least 50% of the value of the work before being issued bidding documents. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of the Proposals without the consent of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Maywood for a period forty-five (45) days after the scheduled time of bid opening. The Contractor and Subcontractor shall comply with all regulations issued pursuant to Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130), and other applicable Federal Laws and regulations pertaining to labor standards. Bidders shall adhere to certain Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) bid submittal requirements and observe the stated DBE goals as described within the contract documents. The successful bidder for the work will be required to furnish sufficient insurance to the Village of Maywood and the Engineer against all damage claims that might arise due to the negligence of the Contractor and will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond in the amount of the contract. The Village of Maywood reserves the right in receiving these bids to waive technicalities and reject any or all bids.
