Battelle requires 7,600 Megawatt-hour (MWh) of New, Green-e certified RECs for FY22. RECs may otherwise be known as Tradable Energy Certificates or Green Tags. Battelle will accept RECs from solar, wind, landfill gas, geothermal, ocean (including tidal, current, and thermal), municipal solid waste, new hydroelectric generation at an existing hydroelectric site, and biomass renewable resource facilities. The renewable source facility must have commenced operation on or after 10/1/2007 for FY22 RECs. The RECs must meet the criteria outlined by the U.S. Green Building Council's product certification requirements. The RECs must also be Green-e certified and proof of a current contract between the Seller and Green-e must be provided with the proposal.
