C.3 MAGNITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECT Between $25,000 and $100,000 Period of Performance: 08/01/2022 to 10/14/2022 Mobilization 2" HDPE Drinking Water Line and Install New 3" Water Tap, Parts, and Install 4" PVC Sewer Pipe and Install 6" Ductile Iron Pipe Sleeve 3" Electrical Conduit and Install Electrical Wiring, Boxes, and Connection Excavation of Topsoil 3/4 " Minus Crushed Rock Site Clearing for Sidewalks (Native Surface) C-1 Scope of Contract A. Pagosa Job Corps CXT Install, Connection Lines, and Site Work. This project is related to potable water application and sewer line construction. Therefore, all materials used in the drinking-waterline construction, including drain lines shall be NSF Standard 61 and AWWA C-901 approved for potable water applications. All work shall comply with applicable federal, state, and local building codes. a. CXT Building This item will include all materials, equipment, and labor to install a prefabricated Forest Service supplied shower and toilet facility. The make and model of this building is the Rainier from CXT, Inc. The building has a footprint of 10'-6" by 23'-8", stands 10'-2" high, and contains 2 showers, 2 toilets, and 2 sinks. The building requires connection lines to the current drinking water tap (which will also be required to be upsized to 3"), the electrical junction box, and the septic tank located on site. See attachment 11 - USFS Pagosa Job Corps CXT Drawings for an overview of the site and attachment 10 - Prefabricated CXT Drawings for detailed drawings on the CXT. The future building location can also be seen below in Photo 1 - Building Location. b. Waterline Connections This item will include all materials, equipment, and labor to connect the new CXT building to the existing drinking water system and wastewater system. The new CXT building will be connected to the current drinking water system through a pressurized 2" high density polyethylene (HDPE) distribution line approximately 110' in length installed and supplied by the Contractor. The line will be buried approximately 2.5' deep. The current drinking water tap located northeast of the proposed facility will also have to be upsized from a 2" tap to a 3" to properly accommodate the new building. The photo of the existing tap can be seen below in Photo 2 - Existing Tap. The new CXT building will be tied into the current septic system through a 4" PVC pipe approximately 290 feet in length. The slope of the line shall be between 2% and 3.5% to allow for adequate flow. To achieve this slope, the elevation of the CXT outlet must be approximately 3.5 feet below grade. The new sewer pipe must have at least 2.5' of coverage in all locations. Cut material from the building excavation may be used as backfill along the length of the pipe and must be adequately compacted. The inlet elevation of the existing septic tank is approximately 2.75' below grade. To adequately tie into the existing septic tank, the existing inlet pipe and sewer service connection for the eastern most campground will need to be removed and replaced with T-junction. The new sewer line will cross the existing drinking water line in one location (see attachment 11 - USFS Pagosa Job Corps CXT Drawings). To accommodate this cross over, the contractor must encase the 4" PVC sewer line inside a 6" x 20' ductile iron pipe sleeve. All waterlines shall be tied in to drain to existing drains. All new pipeline and fittings shall be verified free from leaks by the contractor with appropriate testing methods. A photo of the proposed sewer connection line can be seen below in Photo 3 - Future Sewer Connection (North) and Photo 4 - Future Sewer Connection (South). *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
