As of April 3, 2024, this project is in the design phase. An engineer has been selected for the project. Information regarding the award and award date has not been disclosed. Bidding and construction is estimated to take place in spring of 2025. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: West Rosemary Street Water Main Replacement project. OWASA will conduct a Qualification-Based Selection process to identify the best qualified firm with which to negotiate a contract. All firms submitting qualifications must have demonstrated experience and expertise in design and construction services for water main replacement. No pre proposal meeting will be held for this project. To receive updates on the RFQ you must contact the project manager, Allison Spinelli (aspinelli@owasa.org). The primary objective of the project is to: a) Evaluate and design the replacement of the 12" AC waterline on West Rosemary Street in Chapel Hill. b) Evaluate the abandonment of the 6" Cast Iron line to consolidate water service along West Rosemary Street. c) Evaluate the replacement and potential upsizing of the 6" VC Sewer Main between N Roberson Street and Mitchell Lane d) Potentially assist OWASA with State Revolving Fund loan request. e) Perform Bidding and Construction Related services to complete the recommended construction. f) All other work as necessary to complete the project. Brad Barber will be OWASA's primary point of contact for all consultant selection matters relating to this project.
