BID BOND 4.1 An acceptable Bid Bond in the format as enclosed herein, Cashier's Check, or Certified Check payable to the City of Shreveport, in an amount not less than five (5%) percent of the total bid including all additive alternates must accompany the bid. 4.2 Negotiable Bid Bonds will be returned to the unsuccessful bidder as soon as possible, or not more than 45 days after the opening of bids. 4.3 All bonds applicable to this transaction must be accompanied by an original Power of Attorney. 4.4 Bidders agree to forfeit Bidders Bond, in the event of failure to contract with the city within ten (10) days after the award of Bid. 5.0 PERFORMANCE/PAYMENT/MAINTENANCE BONDS 5.1 Acceptable Performance/Payment/Maintenance Bonds will be required of the successful bidder as follows: 5.2 When the total contract amount with alternates is $50,000 or more, a 100% performance bond shall be required. 5.3 When the total contract amount with alternates is $25,000 or more, a 50% payment bond shall be required. 5.4 When the total contract amount with alternates is $20,000 or more, a two-year 10% maintenance bond shall be required.
