* Design Assist Subcontractors have been awarded to: Mechanical Design Assist Subcontract - Randall Plumbing & Heating Ltd.; Electrical Design Assist Subcontract - McCaine Electric Ltd.; Fire Protection Design Assist Subcontract: Tyco - Johnson Controls. The intent of this Request for Proposal is to obtain submissions from Proponents for Mechanical, Electrical and Fire Protection Design Assist Subcontracts for the Ashern Lakeshore General Hospital Inpatient Addition & ED Renovation Project. The project consists of a new 26 bed, 19,117ft2 Inpatient addition as well as a 5,500ft2 renovation to the existing Inpatient Unit to expand the Emergency Department and accommodate a total of 8 treatment spaces. The Lakeshore General Hospital (LGH), 1 Steenson Drive, Ashern, Manitoba, is a facility within the Interlake-East Regional Health Authority and is a district hub. Originally constructed in 1972, the general hospital and personal care home is a single-story building of structural steel and concrete construction. The new inpatient addition will be a structural steel building on a concrete foundation.
