As of January 15, 2023, an architect has been selected for the project. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Both Hartwick Pines and Tawas Point State Parks utilize the original campground electric infrastructure within their modern campgrounds. This existing infrastructure is beginning to fail during heavy visitor use seasons and does not meet visitor service demands regarding public health, safety, and welfare. On regular occasions at both parks, the campgrounds experience brown outs, loss of power, overheated control cabinets and related electrical failures. The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Parks and Recreation Division (PRD) desires to retain a professional services consultant (PSC), who will provide a review of each campground's electric system for condition and risk assessment, with consideration for full campground electrical system upgrades based on contemporary PRD needs. This assessment shall include estimates of the cost for design, permitting, and construction of a new electric system based on an arranged construction schedule for the completion of this work. The PSC shall have proven experience with multiple examples of completed work in the area of private and / or state-owned campground facilities. The PSC shall be responsible for verifying and gathering accurate information, preparation of all necessary construction documents, approval of these documents by the required governing agencies, and final asbuilt record drawings. There shall be the standard 50 percent and 90 percent reviews for the Phase 300 and 500 services, with additional meetings dedicated to idea generation and conceptual design development with the DNR project team. REFERENCE STANDARDS: This project will comply with all codes, standards, regulations, and workers' safety rules that are administered by federal agencies (EPA, OSHA, and DOT), state agencies (DCH, EGLE, DNR, and MIOSHA), and any other local regulations and standards that may apply.
