As of March 13, 2024, an engineer has been selected and this project is in the preliminary design and study phase. A firm timeline for construction has not been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Melrose (City) hereby requests Statements of Qualifications from qualified individuals and/or firms interested in providing consulting services to the City of Melrose for design services for the Lebanon and Sylvan Streets Area Drainage Improvements project. The RFQ will be available after 10:00 AM on July 8, 2022 and can be obtained by emailing Jennifer Rosa at JRosa@CityofMelrose.org. The project location is in the vicinity of the intersection of Lebanon Street and Sylvan Street in Melrose, Massachusetts, including work within the City-owned Wyoming Cemetery. The proposed project will address historic flooding which occurs during both large and small rain events at and around the intersection of Lebanon and Sylvan Streets in Melrose. The goal of this mitigation project is to alleviate flooding in this area by providing a fully functioning downstream drainage system. This project must be designed in conformance with FEMA requirements to support future grant funding acquisition.
