City of Canton - 360 E. Linn Street Structural Demolition & Asbestos Removal project The work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: mobilization, traffic control and site security; removal of all trees and stumps; removal and disposal of asbestos material; demolition and removal of all structures/buildings, foundations, pedestal sign with foundation, chain link fence, block walls, brick walls, HVAC equipment, and debris inside of structures and debris outside of structures within property; removal and disposal of all concrete sidewalk, concrete pavement/slabs, and HMA pavement; disconnection/capping of utilities to site; furnish and install backfill materials; earthwork to grade site upon completion of demolition and removal items to allow for positive drainage from site; furnish and install topsoil (2" minimum thickness); and final grading, furnish and install seeding and mulch A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the City of Canton, Illinois, negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. This contract calls for the construction of a "public work," within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. ("the Act"). The Act requires CONTRACTORS and SUBCONTRACTORS to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the "prevailing rate of wages" (hourly cash wages plus fringe benefits) in the county where the work is performed. All CONTRACTORS and SUBCON- TRACTORS rendering services under this contract must comply with all requirements of the Act, including but not limited to, all wage, notice and record keeping duties.
