BOROUGH OF OAKLAND COUNTY OF BERGEN PUBLIC NOTICE HISTORIC RESTORATION GENERAL CONTRACTORS Please take notice that the Borough of Oakland seeks experienced Historic Restoration General Contractors who specialize in restoration of general carpentry restoration, plaster restoration, wood flooring restoration, and surface preparation and painting of historic wood and plaster finishes to submit prequalification statements for the: Phase IIB: Interior Restoration Van Allen House 1-3 Franklin Avenue Oakland Borough, Bergen County, New Jersey 07436 The project generally consists of the following: 1. Repair of existing interior finish carpentry including but not limited to wood bases, interior doors, interior door surrounds, window surrounds, and related work item; 2. Repair of door hardware; 3. Plaster restoration; 4. Wood flooring restoration; 5. Surface preparation and painting of historic wood and plaster finishes. Only those determined to be pre-qualified Historic General Contractors for this project will be invited to submit bids for the work. This property is listed on the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places. All prospective bidders must demonstrate experience in the successful completion of projects of similar scope and nature that followed the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties (Revised 1995) performed to the satisfaction of the owner.Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq.
