Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for paving for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

COMPONENT A - Carry out repairs to the existing surface area. The preferred material for the new surface is concrete. Repairs would include ensuring there are no prominent cracks, smoothing the surface onto existing ramps, and leveling out edges of the existing border. The dimensions of the existing surface is 158.5 feet by 64.7 feet and is made of asphalt. COMPONENT B - Construction of a paved a walkway to the skate park from the parking lot. Approximately 40 feet length by 1.8 meter width. Please specify the material used for the walkway. The walkway shall comply with the Accessibility Design Standards B651- 18. The surface of the path should be non-slip, stable, firm, and, if possible, have a colour contrast from the grass around it. The pathway must be flush with both the parking lot and skate park surfaces (no threshold that may present a barrier to those on wheels). It is fine to have the path slightly inclined to meet the skate park surface but not too much of a drop on the sides as this can be a safety hazard. COMPONENT C Design and construction of new, additional skate park elements. Suggestions of new elements are shown in Schedule “B” in white. The Town is open to other recommendations.
