The project consists of the rehabilitation of a single-family residence that was moved from 602 Gaston Boulevard, New Bern to 911 Eubanks Street, New Bern. Work consists of constructing a new foundation, installing the house on the new foundation, connecting all utilities and hook ups, rehabilitation of the walls, floors, finishes, kitchen, bath, installing new appliances, electrical work, etc. All inquiries or questions concerning this project must be made to Ms. D'Aja Fulmore,Community Development Coordinator, fulmored@newbernnc.gov or by calling (252) 639-7586. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the City of New Bern, negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount for the rehabilitation work shall be submitted with each bid. The City of New Bern has established Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Women Business Enterprise (WBE) minimum participation levels (MPLs). HUD Section 3 participation is required for contracts in excess of $200,000.00. The MBE/WBE MPLs are three percent (3%) for MBE and three percent (3%) for WBE of the dollar amount of the bid for this contract. The Contractor must make a "Good Faith Effort" to solicit MBE/WBE participation and Section 3 participation as is applicable for the project. The contractor should use the form - MBE/WBE and Section 3 Participation, which is included in the bid documents. The City of New Bern reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informality in the bidding. Bids may be held by the City of New Bern for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders prior to awarding of the contract.
