On September 15, 2022, the Jefferson County Library Board of Trustees approved a contract with Fransen Pittman for general contracting services. Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) is seeking proposals for General Contractor construction services utilizing the construction manager/general contractor (CMGC) delivery method. This will be a master contract for services on multiple projects. Each project will have an individual scope of work documented by an amendment to the master contract and will entail a commitment to deliver the project with a Guaranteed Maximum Price. (GMP). Jefferson County Public Library provides library services for all of Jefferson County and includes locations in Arvada, Conifer, Golden, Edgewater, Evergreen, Lakewood, Wheat Ridge and unincorporated Jefferson County with 11 branches. In 2015, voters in Jefferson County approved to increase the maximum mill levy for the Jefferson County Public Library with two of the priorities being 1) repairing and refurbishing existing facilities and 2) provide additional library services to underserved communities. To honor that promise, JCPL is moving forward with construction of a 40,000 sq. ft. new build in the south metro area of the County, renovating our 32,000 sq. ft. Evergreen branch and is planning for a 30,000 + sq. ft. new build in northwest Arvada. JCPL has contracted with Eppstein Uhen Architects (EUA), Inc to provide design services on these projects and JCPL employs its own Construction Project Manager with extensive construction project management experience.
