Demolition, site work and addition to a fire / police facility in Miles City, Montana. Completed plans call for the addition of a 7,600-square-foot fire / police facility; for the demolition of a fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.

The Custer County Board of Commissioners has determined that an "Alternative Project Delivery Contract" is justified for construction of a new project known as the Custer County Fire Hall (CCFH) Additions which consists of an ~3,600 SF north side fire hall addition and a ~4,000 SF south side transit addition to their existing Custer County Fire Hall (CCFH) at 200 N. Haynes Avenue in Miles City, Montana because the project presents strict schedule and budget concerns indicated in the Owner's Justification Document (available upon request). The process will involve the following: PHASE ONE: General Contractors submitting Contractor Qualifications Questionnaires (CQQ) for review under the "General Contractor / Construction Management" (GC/CM) method of project delivery. The project team will review qualifications, references, and Contractor mark-up as needed to select Contractors qualified for Phase Two. PHASE TWO: The project team will interview qualified General Contractors and score them based on a combination of the Phase One CQQ, answers to interview questions, and other information learned during the interview. Based on the project team's scoring, a preferred General Contractor will be selected for Phase Three. PHASE THREE: Based on a partial set of Bid Documents provided by SDI Architects + Design, Inc., the preferred General Contractor will then propose a Guaranteed Maximum Price including schedule and proposed list of subcontractors for evaluation by the project team. After review and negotiations, a recommendation for final contract will be submitted to the Owner for approval. DOCUMENTS: The Contractor Qualifications Questionnaire (CQQ) may be examined and/or obtained at the office of the Architect, SDI Architects + Design, 909 Main Street, Miles City, MT 59301, 406-234-27 0777 (phone). Design Development drawings may be obtained from the Architect for reference during 28 Phase Two. FEDERAL REQUIREMENTS NOTICE: Custer County has received notice of awards for a USDA-RD grant; as well as a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grant with funds coming through the Montana Department of Transportation. Custer County will soon commence implementation of the Custer County Fire Hall Additions in Miles City, Montana. USDA-RD and FTA regulations governing these grants require that to the greatest extent feasible, opportunities for training and employment arising in connection with this project will be extended to local, lower-income residents. Further, to the greatest extent feasible, business concerns located in or substantially owned by residents of the project area will be utilized. Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, Minority Business Enterprise, and Women Business Enterprises are encouraged to apply. The Contractor will to the greatest extent feasible, utilize disadvantaged, women and minority business concerns. All prospective general contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry prior to submitting bids. August 08, 2022 at 12PM MST: A list of Contractors that submitted for consideration, as well as those selected for interviews, will be available to all respondents. Interviews will be conducted on this date. Tuesday, September 06, 2022: The preferred GC/ CM will be selected by this date. EXPERIENCE: All submitting Contractors accept and understand that experience in strict project 9 schedules and project budgets will be an important factor in selection.
