Renovation of a water / sewer project in Orillia, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The Water Filtration Plant (WFP), located at 200 Bay Street, treats and supplies the majority of the City's drinking water. The WFP was originally constructed in 1914 and has had several large upgrades to improve the treatment process and/or to increase its capacity. In 2000, the electrical system of the WFP was upgraded, including the addition of the backup generator. The WFP is supplied by medium voltage (4,160 V) from Hydro One's grid through a substation located on Jarvis St. The feed then splits between power supplies for the outbuildings as well as crossing to the WFP main building. The power supplies for the Generator Building, the Wells and the Air Scrubber building are housed in the Generator Building. The WFP main building feeds multiple motor control centres (MCCs) located in the various process areas of the facility. There are four electrical components to be replaced and/or upgraded as part of these RFT works. Please refer to Part 3 of the RFT document for specifications/details.
