The City of Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation Department is seeking bids from qualified regional representatives (contractors) to provide complete removal and installation of fencing/timber guardrail removal and installation at various locations within the City of Virginia Beach. Note: All Prospective Bidders/respondents Are Hereby Cautioned Not to Contact Any Member of the City of Virginia Beach Staff or Officials Other Than the Specified Contact Person. Removal Per Linear ft. Old timber guard rail. Removal Per Linear ft. Vinyl Coated Chain Link Fencing Sizes: 4' tall vinyl coated or galv. chain link fencing. Removal Per Linear ft. 6' tall vinyl coated or galv. chain link fencing. Removal Per Linear ft. New Timber Guard Rail Specifications: Wooden Guardrail: Posts will be 8" x 8" x 4'-6" long; pressure treated pine with a chamfered top. Rails will be 4" x 8" x 10' long maximum length; pressure treated pine. Footings for posts shall be minimum 16" diameter with a depth of 2'-6". Posts shall be 2' in the ground on 6" aggregate base (21 A Stone). Concrete will be class type and shall be chamfered/formed to direct water to run away from post. (See attached detail) Fasteners/hardware will be hot dipped galvanized. (bolt threads must not be more than 1/2" past nut). All posts will have a 2" diameter hole drilled through, 6-inches above finish grade. Posts and rails will be minimum grade 2 lumber. Wood is sourced locally, within a 1000 km radius
