Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Yardley, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The Borough of Yardley is replacing the existing Mary Yardley Pedestrian Footbridge that traverses the Delaware Canal at the westerly end of Fuld Avenue in Yardley, PA. The existing wooden bridge will be replaced with a Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) bridge. In addition to replacing the bridge, the area on the east end of the bridge will be regraded. New stone will be placed on the towpath, new gravel will be installed on the approach driveway, and new topsoil and seed will be put in on the adjacent pervious area. The proposed bridge and re-grading will assist in ADA accessibility of the existing towpath. The scope of work is more fully described in the Project Specifications herein and on the Project Plans. Bidders are required to provide Bid Security in an amount equal to 10% of the total amount bid. Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the awarded contract value.
