Site work for a water / sewer project in Barnstable, Massachusetts. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
As of April 19, 2023, an engineer firm has not been confirmed. This project is included Town of Barnstable Fiscal Year 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Plan. Funding is allotted towards 2025 for permitting, 2026 for construction and 2027 for post retoration monitoring. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. The closed solicitation has been included below for reference. This project will continue the Town’s efforts to enhance the natural nitrogen treatment abilities within the Three Bays watershed by using a series of nontraditional projects in a way that acts as a comprehensive treatment system. The first project is to dredge Mill Pond to the extent permittable, thereby increasing the water residence time and improving nitrogen removal of the pond. It is anticipated that this project will involve the removal of up to 30,000 cubic yards of material from the pond.
