Bids may be held by the Board of Works for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days. The Board of Works has the right to reject any and all bids. The address of the property and structures to be demolished, the owner of record and any holder of substantial property are also listed. The estimated cost of demolition is based on a public bid opened by the Board of Public Works and Safety at their weekly meeting held at City Hall, 300 N. High St., Muncie, IN at 9 AM. A contract for demolition will be awarded on or after 8/24/2022. Owners must pay the City of Muncie the actual cost of demolition plus a $750 fee to cover the cost of processing this matter. If not paid for more than 15 days after completion of the demolition work the full amount will be recorded, after a hearing, as a lien against all persons having a fee interest, life estate interest, or equitable interest of a contract purchaser in the unsafe premises OR will be filed as a special assessment on the tax duplicate of the unsafe premises and collected as delinquent property taxes are collected.
