Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Black Creek, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.
This proposal will include installation at two locations; four two-unit buildings at Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park (with a potential for a fifth building), and three two-unit buildings in Miracle Beach Provincial Park. The construction will involve improvements to two existing septic systems at Little Qualicum Fall and one existing septic system at Miracle Beach. The other locations will need design and installation of new septic systems. All septic systems are to be approved and passed inspection by the local Environmental Health Officers for the areas. The design of these toilet / shower buildings should include the following criteria: Be universally accessible; Use green building practices; Fit into a natural landscape, using sustainable design features, with a focus on materials that are readily available; Resistant to rot and vandalism, with the ability to withstand extended periods of no use/ maintenance. The buildings may be installed in areas that don't have access to electricity or natural gas. All building locations will have water and sewer connections. The construction of the units and septic systems will be a multi year project, expected to last up to two years. The finalized construction timelines will be discussed with the successful proponent and could be subject to change based on budget allocations. Documents can be obtained from www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca.
