Site work and new construction of a warehouse / distribution facility in Williamsburg, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a warehouse / distribution facility; and for site work for a warehouse / distribution facility.

As of April 5, 2024, per owner, there has been no design team/general contractor selected at this time. The RFQ is under evaluation and the RFP is to be reissued in late April 2024. Construction prior to end of 2026. The Williamsburg Area Transit Authority (WATA or Authority) is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified architectural firms to produce detailed designs, construction drawings, and specifications and contract documents, and to obtain the necessary related regulatory approvals for the construction of a Northern Transfer Center at 6166 Old Mooretown Rd, Williamsburg, Virginia. It is the intent of this request for proposal to result in the competitive negotiation of a fixed-price contract for these services. The successful firm will demonstrate proven management skills and technical competence in the design of public transit facilities of similar design and function. Questions pertaining to this project should be directed to Jessica Yost, jessica.yost@jamescitycountyva.gov in writing via email. The deadline for submission of written questions is 2:00 pm on August 10, 2022. All questions that are pertinent to the RFP will be answered in the form of an addendum, which will be uploaded to the James City County website WATA and JCC reserve the right to cancel, amend, or reissue this RFP or the Project at any time without prior notice. WATA makes no guarantee that any contract will be awarded to a proposer responding to this RFP. WATA/JCC further reserves the right to accept or reject any and all Proposals, or any item or part thereof, or to waive any informalities or irregularities in Proposals Bidders shall furnish a bid guaranty in the form of a bid bond, or certified treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible financial institution, be issued by a fully qualified surety company acceptable to WATA and made payable to WATA. The amount of such guaranty shall be equal to five percent (5%) of the bid price. The bid guarantee is an assurance that the bidder will, upon acceptance of the bid, execute such contractual documents as may be required within the time specified. A Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract value is required by WATA to secure fulfillment of all the contractor's obligations under the contract. Either a performance bond or an irrevocable Stand-by letter of credit, issued by a fully qualified surety company acceptable to WATA and made payable to WATA, shall be provided by the Contractor and shall remain in full force for the term of the contract. A Payment Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract value is required by WATA to assure payment as required by law of all persons supplying labor and materials in execution of the work under the contract. The bond may be issued by a fully qualified surety company acceptable to WATA and made payable to WATA. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
