This mandate provides for the conduct of a similar study, but carried out in landfills located in remote areas, namely in trench landfills (LEET) and landfills in northern environments (LEMN). More specifically, the purpose of this study is to better understand the composition of residual materials that are currently sent for disposal in remote areas, which will make it possible in particular to identify and quantify materials that have reclamation potential. It will then be easier to think about the best avenues to divert them from elimination. It should be noted that a third characterization study, which will be the subject of a subsequent call for tenders process this fall, will be carried out in order to characterize litter, i.e. waste abandoned which, for various reasons, have not integrated the conventional circuit of residual materials management and are located in particular along roads or shores.
