Site work and paving for a road / highway in Belmont, Mississippi. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

Contract Documents, including Drawings and Specifications, may be examined at the office of Dean McRae Engineering, Inc., located at 308 Grisham Street, Iuka, Mississippi. The work shall consist of reconstruction of approximately 639 feet of Searcy Road located in Belmont, Mississippi. Work shall generally include removal of existing storm sewers and installation of new reinforced concrete pipe (12", 15", and 24"), approximately 210 cubic yards of waste excavation, placement of approximately 604 cubic yards of select backfill, placement of approximately 2,946 tons of base and shoulder stone, placement of approximately 650 tons of hot mix asphalt (9.5 mm and 19 mm), and installation of a full depth timber crossing (72 linear feet), all as shown on the plans and defined in the specifications. The above items and quantities are general in nature; actual items and quantities for the contract shall be as defined in the Bid Proposal. Each bid submitted must be marked on the outside "Bid for SEARCY ROAD MAINLINE REHABILITATION - PROJECT NO. RMM-20(02) -MISSISSIPPI-ALABAMA RAILROAD AUTHORITY ". Any bid in excess of $50,000 must contain on the outside of the envelope the contractor's current certificate of responsibility number, and no bid shall be opened or considered unless this number appears on the outside of the envelope or unless a statement is included on the outside of the envelope indicating that the bid enclosed does not exceed $50,000. In the letting of public contracts, preference shall be given to resident contractors, and a nonresident bidder domiciled in a state having laws granting preference to local contractors shall be awarded Mississippi public contracts only on the same basis as the nonresident bidder's state awards contracts to Mississippi contractors bidding under similar circumstances; and resident contractors actually domiciled in Mississippi, be they corporate, individuals, or partnerships, are to be granted preference over nonresidents in awarding of contracts in the same manner and to the same extent as provided by the laws of the state of domicile of the nonresident. When a nonresident contractor submits a bid for a public project, he shall attach thereto a copy of his resident state's current law pertaining to such state's treatment of nonresident contractors. Any bid submitted by a nonresident contractor which does not include the nonresident contractor's current state law shall be rejected and not considered for award. A satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an accepted Surety, a certified check, or bank draft payable to the MISSISSIPPI-ALABAMA RAILROAD AUTHORITY, on negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value), shall be submitted with each bid in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid. Bids may be held for up to 60 days from the date of opening for review of bids and qualifications of bidders prior to Contract award.
