Rehabilitation of the Lower Level Deck on the Suspended Spans of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, along with miscellaneous repairs of other suspended span elements, painting, and a new FDNY Fiber Line. The scope of the Work is summarized as follows: 1.) Removal of existing asphalt wearing surface and replacement with new Rosphalt overlay on the lower level suspended spans; 2.) Repairs to the existing concrete-filled steel grid deck on the lower level suspended spans; 3.) Rehabilitation of the existing deck relief joints in the lower level suspended spans; 4.) Structural steel repairs to center post columns at the lower level roadway; 5.) Refurbishment of anchorage finger joints and rehabilitation of supporting elements; 6.) Replacement of segments of tower expansion barriers, along with three of four tower finger joints and support beams; 7.) Recoating of structural steel supporting finger joints; 8.) Miscellaneous structural repairs to parapets, safety walks, catwalks and drainage elements; 9.) Miscellaneous repairs to fire standpipe system elements; 10.) Miscellaneous electrical repairs; 11.) Removal of existing signs, and installation of new signs and pavement markings; 12.) Installation of Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) Systems for Upper Level Eastbound Lanes and Westbound Slip Ramp, adjacent to the Staten Island Tolling Area; 13.) Painting of Upper Level Structural Steel elements; and 14.) Installation of new Fiber Line for FDNY. This is a A+B type contract.
