Demolition, site work and asbestos abatement for a residential development in Enterprise, Alabama. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; for site work for a residential development; and for asbestos abatement for a residential development.
Demolition and Clearance of Public Nuisance Properties Phase I The project consists of the demolition and clearance of seven (7) public nuisance properties located within the corporate limits of the City of Enterprise, Alabama. Three (3) of the seven (7) proposed demolitions will require abatement of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) prior to actual demolition and clearance on the properties. ALL WORK SHALL BE COMPLETED WITHIN 90 CONSECUTIVE CALENDAR DAYS FOLLOWING ISSUANCE OF THE NOTICE TO PROCEED. The Bidder's name and address shall appear on the outside of the sealed bid and the Bidder's General Contractor's License shall be listed on the outside of the sealed bid, if applicable. Each BIDDER must deposit with his BID, security in the amount, form, and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. If the BID exceeds $ 50,000.00, each BIDDER must be licensed as a Contractor in the State of Alabama in accordance with the provisions set forth in Chapter 8 of Title 34 of the Code of Alabama and must be certified for the type of work for which the proposal is submitted. The BIDDERS current State of Alabama License Number must appear on the outside of the sealed envelope containing his/her bid. For Bids exceeding $ 50,000.00, Performance and Payment Bond(s) each in the amount of 100% of the CONTRACT PRICE; with a corporate surety approved by the OWNER, will be required from the CONTRACTOR. For Bids of less than $ 50,000, the BIDDER will be required to submit a Certified Check in the amount of 50% of the CONTRACT PRICE as faithful security for performance and payment under the terms of the CONTRACT OR the contractor shall furnish a surety bond or bonds as security for faithful performance (50%) on this contract and for the payment (50%) of all persons performing labor on the project under this contract and furnishing materials in connection with this contract, as specified in the General Conditions included herein. The surety on such bond or bonds shall be a duly authorized surety company satisfactory to the Owner. Attention of BIDDERS is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed, Section 3, Segregated Facility, Section 109, E.O. 11246 and any other applicable laws and regulations of the Federal Government and the State of Alabama, if required. The Davis-Bacon Act for payment of minimum wages will not apply to this CONTRACT and; as such, no minimum wages will be required for job classifications other than the minimum wage dictated by Federal Law. In addition, the successful BIDDER must carry Comprehensive Public Liability Insurance of at least $ 1,000,000. Additionally all bidders must be enrolled in E-Verify and though an active registration with the System For Award Management (SAM) is recommended it is not required. Bidders may contact the Enterprise Department of Engineering Services at (334) 348-2671 or Mr. Clay Nelson, Code Enforcement Inspector at (334) 406-2448 to obtain the INFORMATION FOR BIDDERS and a BID SCHEDULE FORM which describes the specific properties (s) to be demolished and cleared and where abatement of Asbestos Containing Material must be undertaken. No BIDDER may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. THE CITY OF ENTERPRISE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO WAIVE ANY INFORMALITY AND TO REJECT ANY AND ALL BIDS.
