The Contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, tools and labor required for removal of the existing cast-in-place culvert and the installation of a double 10' x 8' pre-cast box culvert, including pre-cast end sections. The Contractor shall have the option to construct the structure as a cast-in-place double box culvert, including end sections using MoDOT standard details. Additional work tasks includes reshaping of the roadway shoulders and placement of rock blanket around the wingwalls to prevent erosion and all other incidental work in the most substantial and workmanlike manner, and do everything required by the Contract Documents as defined herein. Contractor Prequalification: All bidders must be on MoDOT's Qualified Contractor List per Section 102.2 from the current version of the Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, including all revisions. The contractor questionnaire must be on file seven (7) days prior to bid opening. Prevailing Hourly Rate of Wages: All labor used in the construction of this public improvement shall be paid a wage no less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages of work of a similar character in this locality as established by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (Federal Wage Rate), or state wage rate, whichever is higher. A 5% DBE Goal is a part of this contract, (See DBE Submittal Forms and DBE Provisions 1-14). All DBE's to be used on this project must be certified and contained in the MRCC DBE Directory at the time of the bid opening Subletting of Contract: No 2nd Tier subcontracting will be allowed on this project as per Special Condition SC-37 Assignment and Subletting of Contract. A Bid Bond or Cashiers Check (as detailed within the bid documents) shall be delivered to the Jackson County, Missouri Purchasing Department, Jackson County Courthouse, 415 East 12th Street, Ground Floor, Room G-1, Kansas City, Missouri 64106 before the Response Deadline for this Invitation to Bid. Failure to submit the Bid Bond prior to the Response Deadline will result in your bid being REJECTED. The project will be awarded to the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder.
