2089396 The College needs to replace the existing 1'x1' spline ceiling and 2'x4' florescent lighting at the North Wing of 6th Floor. The spline ceiling is under deteriorating condition and wiring of the lighting fixture has Asbetos-Containing Materials (ACM) insulation. New replacement will be 2'x2' Drop Ceiling and LED Lighting. Total of Nineteen (19) rooms, refer to Drawing Plan 1, are involved in the project which shown in the floor plan. The construction shall include, but not limited to the following: Demo: Remove existing ceiling and lightings.
Asbestos: Due to existing lighting fixture wire insulation contains ACM, contractor has to abate the lighting and wire from fixture to the closest junction box.
Black Iron: Contractor can reuse the black iron support of new ceiling and lighting. However, contractor needs to provide additional support when necessary.
Lighting: Install two (2) units of new 2'x2' LED lights with two-way switch in each room.
Ceiling: Install 2'x2' Drop Ceiling in each room. All work on this Contract is to be completed within two hundred and ten (210) calendar days after the contract approval date. Job is required to remove and replace one room at a time. The College's Director of Capital Project will assign the designated room to be removed and replace while the construction commences. Contractor must complete the entire room before moving to the next room. There is no storage for material and toolbox. A licensed electrician is required to do all the electrical work. A licensed asbestos contactor is required if any asbestos abatement involved.
