The City of Statesboro is soliciting bids from experienced and qualified General Contractors who are interested in submitting a proposal and entering into a contract for the renovation. The project consists of renovating approximately 5,500 SF of general office space. This renovation includes 10 offices, 4 restrooms, reworking a sprinkler system and minor roof repair. MINORITY AND FEMALE OWNED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE PARTICIPATION (MFBE) It is the intent of the City of Statesboro to encourage participation by minority and female owned business enterprises (MFBE) for all procurement processes. The construction phase of this project shall include a minimum 20% minority or female business enterprise participation of total construction cost. All submittals for this invitation to bid must include a statement acknowledging compliance with 20% MFBE requirement at time for submittal of sealed bids. Upon submittal of sealed bids, pre-qualified contractors will be required to provide proof of MFBE certification (if the general/prime contractor is a certified MFBE) or provide a list of MFBE sub-contractors, identify percentage of participation by each subcontractor and proof of minority or female owned business certification for proof of compliance with this section requirement. Performance and Payment Bonds shall be required in an amount equal to one hundred (100%) percent of the contract price after the bid is awarded. City of Statesboro reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, including without limitation, the rights to reject any or all nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced or conditional Bids and to reject the Bid of any Bidder if the City of Statesboro believes that it would not be in the best interest of the City of Statesboro to make an award to that Bidder, whether because the Bid is not responsive or the Bidder is unqualified or of doubtful financial ability or fails to meet any other pertinent standard or criteria established by the City of Statesboro. A Bid Bond in an amount not less than five (5%) percent of the Base Bid must to be submitted with sealed bid. It is understood and agreed that the bidder agrees that this bid shall be an option, which is hereby given to the City of Statesboro to accept or reject this bid at any time within sixty (60) calendar days from the date on which it is opened and read. It is expressly covenanted and agreed that this proposal is not subject to withdrawal by the bidder during the term of said option. The party submitting the bid is solely responsible for delivering the bid to the exact location and by the time stated. It is the City of Statesboro's intent to sign a contract and start construction within a week of bid.
