The purpose of the geotechnical assessment is to assess all geotechnical considerations required for the performance and safety of the dam, including primarily, the stability and seepage conditions under select loading conditions. This assessment will determine if the dam meets all geotechnical considerations outlined in the Canadian Dam Association (CDA) 2007 Dam Safety Guidelines (2013 Revised) as well as other standard guidelines and the industry best practices. WSA is a Treasury Board Crown corporation within the meaning of The Crown Corporations Act, 1993 (Saskatchewan) that is governed by The Water Security Agency Act (Saskatchewan). WSA is responsible for water management in the Province of Saskatchewan, which includes managing the Province's water supply, protecting water quality, ensuring safe drinking water and the treatment of wastewater, reducing flood and drought damage, protecting aquatic habitat, and managing 72 dams and related supply channels. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this time.
