Background: The City of Dexter is working to complete the State of Michigan Department of Envioronment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) mandated water distribution system materials inventory as stipulated in the "lead and copper rule." Scope: The City of Dexter is seeking a contractor to complete the following work regarding the project of verifying materials in service lines of various homes in the community: Hydro-excavation (potholing) and vactor on both sides of each home's water curb stop boxes in order to inspect the service lines. The price provided by prospective vendors shall be for all work per pothole. The per-pothole price shall be all inclusive Identifying the materials being utilized on each side of the water curb stop box Additionally, the contractor will be asked to replace any "Buffalo"-style curb stop boxes that are found. These will be replaced with an "Erie 2-hole archbox"-style curb stop box. The City will provide the new curb stop boxes to the contractor for installation. All service line identification work must be complete prior to December 31, 2022. Additional Scope: Contractors will be asked to provide a quote with and without backfilling each pothole after indetification. Depending on the number of anticipated potholes to be completed per day/week, the City may choose to perform backfilling activities in-house. Additional Bid Information: The work may begin following City Council approval, unless otherwise agreed upon that delivery and bid pricing shall begin sooner. Bidders shall itemize any required deposit, surcharges, or delivery fees. Any surcharges or fees not detailed in the bid will not be paid. Work will be coordinated with the applicable City departments in order to conduct inspections as well as the replacement of selected aged curb boxes.
