DESCRIPTION: Design-build project to perform repairs and improvements at the following locations: 1. Humanities Hall a. 3rd floor exterior courtyard i. Remove and replace existing tile overburden, concealed waterproofing membrane system, and perimeter door and storefront system. b. Storm drain system, 1st, 2nd and 3rd levels i. Replace all existing piping from the roof deck, through the building with larger piping. ii. Separate the existing single riser to two independent risers. iii. Replace the exterior laterals around the perimeter, below grade, with larger pipe sizes. 2. Studio 4 a. 2nd floor deck water leaks i. Remove and replace existing tile overburden, concealed waterproofing system, and sheathing. 3. Schneiderman Lecture Hall a. Podium deck water leaks i. Remove and replace existing tile overburden, concealed waterproofing membrane system, and perimeter door and storefront system. ii. Repair concrete cracks and spalls at the topside and underside of existing structural concrete podium deck 4. Claire Trevor Theater a. Exterior wall leaks i. Remove and replace existing exterior wall coating system and perform concrete crack repairs. b. Lower roof replacement i. Remove existing flood coat, gravel-topped built-up roof system and rigid insulation down to structural concrete deck. Install new UCI campus standard thermoplastic roofing system including all perimeter flashings, copings, drain bodies, scuppers and related items. c. Middle and upper roof replacement i. Remove existing granulated cap sheet built-up roof system, cover board and rigid insulation layers down to existing lightweight concrete deck. Perform repairs to existing lightweight concrete deck where needed and install new UCI campus standard thermoplastic roofing system including all perimeter flashings, copings, drain bodies, scuppers and related items. ii. Install new exterior fixed roof access ladder from lower roof to middle roof extending up and over decorative curved parapet. iii. Install new roof access hatch at upper roof, modify existing roof access metal landing system above stage and install fixed roof access ladder from landing system to new roof access hatch Estimated Contract Time: 11 Months Project Delivery: Design Build ESTIMATED DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION COST: $6,000,000 To prequalify, Contractors must agree to comply with all proposal conditions including state prevailing wages, 10% bid bond, 100% payment and performance bonds, and insurance requirements. A contract will be awarded to the Design Build Team that offers UCI the best value.
