Demolition, site work and renovation of a museum in Montreal, Quebec. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a museum; for site work for a museum; and for the demolition of a museum.
Major construction upgrades for the preservation of the old Craig pumping station. Located at the foot of the Jacques-Cartier Bridge, between the traffic lanes of Notre-Dame Street, it is the oldest infrastructure from the industrial era in North America built in 1887 and still standing in Montreal. This pumping station was intended to stem the recurring floods that affected the city at that time. Finally, the work will be followed by the construction of a roof at ground level to protect and introduce the population to the network of tunnels and sewers under Craig station. After the project implementation this historic site will become accessible to the public. TIMELINE: The owner has awarded, following public tender 1394876, a demolition sub trade contractor to dismantle the old Craig pumping station. The items removed were stored to be recovered and reused as part of the restoration of the site. The owner is finalizing the project scope and seeking required approvals and funding. Future and timelines of the project development are not now determined. The project will be followed if/when it proceeds to a design stage. Coverage of this report has been discontinued.
