The proposed contract requires the provision of labor and materials for Dinner Rock FSR 8136 Branch 01 and Dinner Rock Campsite loop road. The site is located approximately 22.6 km northwest of the city of Powell River, accessible by paved highway. The contractor shall: Renew ditchlines from gate to bottom of paved hill (0.5 kilometre (km) to 1.38 km), and from campsite loop road to beach area (1.48 km to 1.52 km). Cleanout culvert sumps and leadout ditches. Reshape/crown gravel sections of roadway and remove berms on road edges to allow water to drain off road surface from Highway 101 to gate (0.0 km to 0.5 km). Mechanically brush both roadsides of the FSR from 0.0 km to 1.38 km (Highway 101 to bottom of paved road section) and as indicated on the attached map. Brushing to extend to the upper outside edge of ditches and/or a minimum of 2 metres (m) from each edge of the road surface. Vegetation is to be cut down to ground level, where possible, and up to a height of 3m to take care of any overhanging branches. Road junctions, signs, bridges, and other structures also to be brushed out to a minimum of 50m sight distance (where applicable). Brush refers to all vegetation within the road prism up to 10 centimetres (cm) diameter. Remove organic material from paved surface. Road shoulders along paved section to be shaped to allow water to drain off road surface. Remove unsuitable round gravel surfacing from campsite loop road "hill" and shape roadway to reduce existing grade and to receive 25mm Well Graded Base Aggregate material. Rounded gravel shall be placed and used to level adjacent camping sites. Supply, load, haul, placement, and compaction of 653 tonnes (360m3) of 100% crushed rock 25mm Well Graded Base Aggregate (WGB) material as indicated on the attached map and as per attached specifications. (544 tonnes of WGB to cover 10 centimetres (cm) compacted depth x 6 metres (m) wide on the Dinner Rock Forest Service Road 8136, Branch 01 between 0.0 kilometre (km) and 0.5km, the remainder 109 tonnes to cover 10cm compacted depth x 4m on roadway below paved section to beach area and campsite loop road). Use only rubber tracked or rubber tired machines on paved sections of Dinner Rock FSR. Any damage to the Dinner Rock FSR 8136, Branch 01 caused by the contractor, sub-trades or suppliers' actions shall be promptly rectified.
