EEI Project Number: 34878.00 The Schmidt Center is located at 15 S. Front Steet on the RACC campus The Schmidt Technology & Training Center (STTC) has exhibited notable settling in certain portions of the building. A Geotechnical analysis and a report was commissioned to identify the likely source of the settling. Weak soils were identified in the area around the southwest corner, and stabilization was recommended. The scope of work for this project includes soil stabilization in this area with high-pressure, compaction grouting as described in the contents of the Project Manual. Single Prime Contract: General Construction CLARIFICATION DEADLINE 8/29/2022 12:30 PM Bid Security shall be made payable to Reading Area Community College, in the amount of 5 percent (5%) of the Base Bid sum. Security shall be CERTIFIED CHECK, BANK CASHIERS CHECK or AIA A310 BID BOND issued by the Surety licensed to conduct business in the state in which the Project is being constructed. The Owner reserves the right to approve the sufficiency of the required bid security. The successful bidder's Security will be retained until it has signed the Contract and furnished the required PAYMENT and PERFORMANCE BONDS. The Owner reserves the right to retain the Security of the next three (3) lowest bidders until the lowest Bidder enters into a Contract or until sixty (60) days after bid opening, unless delayed due to required approvals of another governmental agency, in which case bids shall be irrevocable for 120-day. All other Bid Security will be returned as soon as practical. If any Bidder refuses to enter into a Contract, the Owner will retain its Bid Security as liquidated damages, but not as a penalty.
