1. PURPOSE The purpose of this Invitation for Bids is to solicit sealed bids from qualified Independent Contractors to renovate portions of the building located at 465 West 15th Street Front Royal, VA 22630, that will soon become the new Warren County Senior Center. 2. SCOPE OF WORK The Independent Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials, and incidentals necessary to remove existing walls, furnish and install doors and finishes as generally shown on the drawings. The Independent Contractor shall coordinate related demolition with other systems including mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The Independent Contractor shall furnish and install new fixtures, walls and finishes as shown in drawings and connection to related systems including Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing for complete and working systems, completing construction with softened, straight edges that are not hazardous. New construction shall be integrated with the existing utilities and the existing utilities and systems. Coordination with the owner and occupants will be required. All equipment, tools, materials, and installation work shall comply with this specification, the Virginia OSHA Standards, and the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Codes. Time is of the essence. The County shall issue a Notice to Proceed no later than 30 days after award. The Independent Contractor shall set Substantial Completion date 90 consecutive calendar days from the date of commencement of the Work as specified in the Notice to Proceed, and Final Completion shall be achieved within 30 consecutive calendar days after the date of Substantial Completion as determined by the A/E.
