The work to be performed under this Fight the Blight Program will consist of the repair of property structures under the jurisdiction or responsibility of the City of Trenton. All work performed will be as directed by the City of Trenton designee and will be accomplished at the site of the property or the contractor's shop depending upon the specific conditions of the work. The work may consist of, but is not limited to concrete masonry work, building structural repair, plumbing repair/replace and associated pipe work, electrical replace/repair, ironwork, repair/replace roof, welding, site remediation due to water, smoke or fire damage, clean-up, general labor, boarding and securing, minor demolition, and related work that may be required to complete these repairs. The intent of the Fight the Blight Program is to repair, clean and stabilize properties in City of Trenton to the original designed and/or constructed condition, or to reinforce, rehabilitate or upgrade said property/structures as directed by the City of Trenton designee. Also, the intent of the Fight the Blight Program is to understand the containment and the methods of encapsulating lead for remediation purposes. Some work under the Fight the Blight Program may be of an emergent nature; therefore, the contractor must have availability on short notice, the labor, tools, materials, and equipment necessary to perform the work in a minimum amount of time. The ability to begin work on a job site in twenty-four (24) hours' notice is a pertinent part of this contract. The contractor shall provide all necessary materials and handling equipment to perform quality work in a safe manner. IF THE EMERGENCY IS A THREAT TO THE SAFETY AND BUILDING OCCUPANT, IMMEDIATE ACTION AND EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED. The Contractor shall provide a 24/7 contact cellular number and e-mail address for two (2) designees should a problem arise, or in the case of an emergency. Flight the Blight is a pilot program designed and implemented by Principal Planner, Stephani Register supported and endorsed by the Honorable Mayor Ree d Gusciora as part of his strategic vision to work with residents to develop revitalization actions for Trenton's neighborhoods and address the urban blight that is plaguing our communities. The program is an integrated approach that is community-guided and leverages public, private, and community resources. An initial pilot will work within a specific 1-block area before ramping up to cover the entire City.
