The work does not include providing wildflower seed, which the Department will supply. All planting sites will be field marked by the Department and maps will accompany the Work Documents issued. Work shall be geographically open to the entire Florida Turnpike System: Florida's Turnpike mainline (SR 91), Homestead Extension Florida's Turnpike (SR 821), Sawgrass Expressway (SR 869), Veterans Expressway (SR 589), Beachline West Expressway (SR 528), Suncoast Parkway (SR 589), Polk Parkway (SR 570), Seminole Expressway (SR 417), Western Beltway (SR 429), East-West Expressway (SR 408), Beachline East Expressway (SR 528), Challenger Memorial Parkway/SR 407, First Coast Expressway (SR 23) from Interstate I-10 to SR 21 Blanding Boulevard, and Southern Connector (SR 417). Prior to beginning work under this Contract, the Contractor shall submit to the Engineer for approval, two copies of the Contractor's proposed plan and methods for performing the work, including a listing of equipment and personnel anticipated for use. The Contractor shall perform all work during day hours in accordance with the Turnpike Lane Closure Policy. No U-turns shall be permitted as a condition of this Contract, except at Service Plazas. Florida Department of Agriculture Commercial Applicator's license with the categories of licensure in Right-of-Way Pest Control and Aquatics is required to bid for this contract. Submit a copy of current certificates with the bid proposal package. Guidance for establishment and management of Wildflower Areas can be found in the Department's Guide for Roadside Wildflower Management, available as a supplement to A Guide for Roadside Vegetation Management. Specific Turnpike wildflower processes can be found in the Florida Turnpike Enterprise Roadside Vegetation Management Plan No Pre-bid Conference Will Be Held for This Project. For bids over $150,000.00, the standard proposal guaranty of 5% of the bid will be required, unless otherwise stipulated in the proposal advertisement. A Proposal Guaranty of not less than five percent (5%) of the total actual bid in the form of either a certified check, cashier's check, trust company treasurer's check, bank draft of any national or state bank, or a Surety Proposal Guaranty made payable to the Florida Department of Transportation must be received for each bid in excess of $150,000.00 A 100% Payment and Performance Bond will be required for all projects.
