Renovation of a water / sewer project in Midland, Ontario. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The Midland WWTC is operated under Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) No. 5708-A72SPG and has an average rated capacity of 15,665 m3/day and a peak rated capacity of 37,000 m3/day. The plant is a conventional activated sludge plant and provides secondary treatment for industrial and domestic wastewater. It generally consists of the following treatment units: - Fine screening and grit removal in the headwork's building. - Primary clarification in three (3) circular clarifiers. - Aeration in six (6) aeration tanks with mechanical aerators. - Secondary clarification - Chlorination using liquid chlorine (sodium hypochlorite). - De-chlorination using calcium thiosulphate. - Sludge digestion using anaerobic digestion with one (1) primary and two (2) secondary digester. - Storm equalization with 1,400 m3 rectangular tank and overflow chlorination. - Septage Receiving with two (2) receiving tanks each with a volume of 136 m3. The Town has not been able to store an efficient volume or pressure of biogas to utilise the dual gas boiler for heating the process and administration building. The current floating lid has suspected leaks at the seems of the panels. Time is off the essence with this project as the Town has an immediate need to have the system in place. It is anticipated the final design be completed during February of 2023, and installation June of 2023. All inquiries and questions concerning this Request for Proposal including specifications, process and results must be directed in writing to procurement@midland.ca before August 22, 2022. Tender has been cancelled. If/when the project will be re-tendered is undetermined at this time. The Town has determined that it would be in the best interest of this project to cancel the solicitation and reject all proposals.
